The ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. said Thursday it has obtained a temporary restraining order (TRO) from a Quezon City Regional Trial Court to prevent media research firm AGB Nielsen from gathering and releasing data on TV ratings for 20 days.
ABS-CBN said the TRO effectively serves as a cease-and-desist order preventing AGB Nielsen from gathering and releasing TV audience measurement data up to the second week of January 2008.
The broadcasting network has filed a P63-million damage suit against AGB Nielsen for allegedly failing to stop what it called alleged efforts by a rival network to rig the ratings in Bacolod City.
ABS-CBN did not mention which network was allegedly engaged in the rigging.
But an official of Nielsen later said they had monitored promotional activities by GMA-7 in Bacolod City but did not see these as exerting any undue influence on the ratings.
GMA-7 denied trying to influence the ratings in Bacolod, saying the city only accounts for a small percentage of the market in Visayas and is not even a distinct survey area for Nielsen.

ABS-CBN IS JUST BEING PARANOID BECAUSE OF THEIR VERY LOW RATING…
IF THEY CAN’T BEAT GMA NOW THEY ARE TRYING TO MAKE UNTRUE STORIES JUST TO TEAR GMA DOWN.
BUT OF COURSE AS A WISE VIEWER, I WILL ONLY BE VIEWING EDUCATIONAL AND SENSIBLE PROGRAMS THAT ONLY GMA NETWORK SHOWS.

O! really ABS-CBn had a low rating will avaya for your information here in mindanao all pepole here are kapamilya u cant see here a kapuso… even visaya… they also kapamilya…. kapuso here is band… We hate kapuso…. mandaraya ksi yang mga taga gma hamak moh na mamanipulate ng rating para maka million and for your information ayala sa mga rating nakasalalay ang mga advertisers kung saan sila nag ccomercial hindi mo ba alam na billion ang nawawala sa abs-cbn.

excuse me! jayriu! i’m from Cagayan de Oro. sinong may sabi sau na number 1 ang abs-cbn sa minadanao?
well maybe in some specifics cities but here in Cagayan, we are now a KAPUSO city! so please stop assuming that all bisaya are Kapamilya. We know like Marimar and other shows of GMA7! Before I’m a certified Kapamilya, but because of their kabaduyan and I noticed that walang quality ang kanilang mga shows then at that time na realize ko na it’s time to change channel 2 to channel 7!
GMA is not banned here in Mindanao esp. in Cagayan de Oro, in fact I heard a good reviews of GMA shows like Zaido, 24 Oras and Marimar!
GMA is now changing its course, and I feel they will be number 1 in whole Mindanao!
I support the network to file a libel suit against ABS-CBN! They deserve it, napaka clumsy nilang mag report! Very Irresponsible!!!

GMA is now running up against ABS-CBN when it comes to VisMin ratings!
Here in Iloilo, matagal nang number 1 ang GMA!
We love GMA shows here, because of the quality and makikita mo talaga na may PUWANG ang kanilang mga shows unlikein ABS-CBN!
I also support the suit against channel 2!
Dapat they will pay millions for the damage that they caused to channel 7!

GMA Network is asking P10 million for the moral damages, P2.5 million for the exemplary damages, P1.5 million for the attorney’s fees, and P1 million for the litigation expenses.

Excuse me you all!!! kanguso… I hate to call this but tanga talaga ang mga GMA hamak mo mg dedemanda sila sa ABS-CBN. eh! hindi nman sa ABS nanggaling ang salitang “TAMPERRING” sa AGB nielsen.
Nandaya talaga ang GMA hamak mo sa AGB nielsen namismo nangaling na Tamperring the gma network contact agb para eh manipulate ang ratings.
